MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A Madison utility is planning to expand its renewable energy pricing program. Madison Gas and Electric says its responding to growing concern about global warming in tripling the size of the program. The green power program allows customers to pay extra on their
monthly electric bill to support development of renewable energy
sources -- like wind turbines and solar panels. The utility has new wind power projects coming on line early next
year, which will triple the amount of green power available to
customers who pay extra.
