Every year for the past 43, Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN, has hosted a conference focusing on scientific and social issues authorized by the Nobel Foundation in Stockholm, Sweden. The 43rd Nobel Conference, Heating Up: the Energy Debate, will take place Oct. 2 and 3 and feature NASA lead climate scientist James Hanson and the following other presenters:
- Steven Chu, 1997 Nobel
laureate in physics and director, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
- Kenneth S. Deffeyes,
professor emeritus of geosciences, Princeton University
- Lee Rybeck Lynd, professor of
engineering, Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth College
- Paul L. Joskow, director,
Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research, Massachusetts
Institute of Technology
- Joan M. Ogden, co-director of
the Hydrogen Pathways Program, Institute
of Transportation Studies, University of California,
Davis
- Will Steger, polar explorer,
writer, conservationist, educator, and photographer
Mr. Hanson is the man who blew the whistle on the Bush administration’s censoring of government climate science and scientists. Will he have something to say to the Nobel people about the
administration’s current campaign to champion “voluntary” global
warming pollution “goals”?
We hope so.
