Every registered member of TEI can have a full-featured personal blog on this site. Here's how.
- You need to be registered and logged-in.
- In the main site menu, under "Member Menu," choose "Your Blog." This will bring up the "home page" of your blog, listing all your postings. You probably don't have any yet.
- At the top of that page, click the link "MyBlog Dashboard." This produces the special interface where you will write and maintain your blog on TEI. Your Web browser screen will go dim and the special interface will "float" on top of the TEI site: Don't worry. Everything is OK.
- Note that the "floating" blog interface has its own vertical scroll bar, independent of the main site scroll bar. This sometimes confuses new users. You probably won't need the rightmost scroll bar while blogging in the floating interface.
- Click "Write" at the top. This produces a new blank blog entry.
- Type a title into the "Title" field, and then type (or paste) your blog posting in the field labeled "Fulltext." Note that you can drag the corner of the Fulltext field to lengthen it so that you can see more text at one time. Also note that the Fulltext field will probably get its own vertical scrollbar (unless your blog posting is very brief).
- Give your post some Tags (keywords) by clicking the existing ones (below the Tags field), or by typing in your own, separated by commas. Examine the existing ones first, and try to be logical and consistent when adding new Tags of your own.
- IMPORTANT! You must SAVE your blog posting before exiting the floating blog interface. To do this, use the scrollbar for the blogging interface itself (not the scrollbar for Fulltext) to go to the bottom where the Save button is. Failing to Save is the single most common mistake.
- After you save, you'll see your new post title listed at the bottom of the blogging interface. It will have a red X, indicating that it exists but is not yet published. You can leave it in this "draft" state if it's not ready. If you wish to publish it, click the red X. (You can later unpublish posts the same way.)
